Thelma Wells is 79 years old, and she’s been featured in many publications and TV shows. These include Dr. Phil, The Joanie Show, Life Today and the 700 Club. She’s known as “Mama T,” and she’s a feisty lady.
As a public speaker and conference presenter, she’s often sought after by governmental agencies, corporations and feminist groups. She’s no stranger to the stage; in fact, she’s performed alongside Max Lucado, Zig Ziglar, Rosa Parks, Kay Arthur, June Hunt, Serita Jakes, Sandy Patti and many more prominent performers. Luci Swindoll, Marilyn Meberg, Patsy Clairmont, Sheila Walsh, Nicole Johnson, International Singer Sandy Patti and the Women of Faith don’t hurt either!
Her passion is to tell everyone they can “BE” their best in Christ. She does this through the 40-year-old mission she’s carried out. That’s to speak for Women of Faith on the Final “LOVED” tour. It was a 22 city, half-million person tour in 2016.
After studying at Masters International School of Divinity in Evansville, Indiana, she earned a Masters of Divinity in 2001. Later that same year, she was ordained and awarded the honorary Doctorate from St. Thomas Christian School and Theological Seminary in Jacksonville, Florida.
Each Tuesday morning, the National Religious Broadcasters Channel 378 tapes the popular TV show of the same name. This show features women discussing topical issues and offering educational insights. It is believed to be very popular with viewers, and it even airs in other time zones. Dottie’s writing credits include 40+ books and training manuals. These include Mama T Says…Rise and Shine, Ready to Win over Depression, God Wants You to Win!, Don’t Give In – God wants YOU to Win! and Listen Up Beloved. That a Girl and Friends Speakers Agency was started by Thelma to give other people the motivation, inspiration and support they need to be the best. She’s always relentless in her pursuit to help others reach their full potential.
Thelma takes inspiration from her current great-grandmother, Sarah Harrell, in her 2016 conference tour GENERATION LOVE: DIVINE EXPLOSION. Harrell was a grandmother to many with her “GENERATION LOVE: EXPLOSION OF LOVE” conference tour. Thelma looks forward to seeing many generations of Christian women come together for a conference. 10 year old girls through senior citizens are encouraged to attend alongside their entire families.
Her new book, Olive Tree Wisdom, is slated for release in 2022.
Ginger is remembered most for her family. She and George, her childhood sweetheart, were married for 58 years until he passed away in 2019. She has nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three children. Many people look up to Ginger as “Grammy.”
