James Haverstick Death, Obituary – On October 13, 2022, JAMES D. HAVERSTICK, 61, passed away in his home. Most people called Jim “Stick” as he was growing up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania’s Mayfair district. He earned diplomas from Penn State University in 1983 and Father Judge High School in 1979, respectively. After earning his degree, Jim started working for the federal government in the Department of Defense and later at Rastelli’s, making a positive impact on everyone he encountered. Jim has always been a devoted supporter of Penn State football as well as the Philadelphia Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, and Flyers. He especially loved watching games with his sons. Jim worked on his automobiles and made sure they were in perfect functioning order when he wasn’t cheering on his teams.
Everyone recognized Jim as a funny person who always showed up when things got difficult. His absence will be felt deeply. Jim’s parents, the late H. Richard and Amelia (Schwarz), as well as his brother, Michael S., predeceased him. He was the loving father of Michael R. and James M. Haverstick. He is survived by his siblings H. Richard Jr., Joan (George) Gainer, Stephen (Connie), David (Kathy), Marilyn (Tom) Batz, and many devoted nieces and nephews. His ex-wife Annette Langello is still alive. The funeral mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, with visitation beginning at 9:15 a.m. at St. Matthew R.C. Church in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. There will be a private funeral.
