Draymond green jordan poole leaked video viral on reddit; Green apologizes for fighting

General manager Bob Myers said Draymond Green apologized to the Golden State Warriors Thursday morning for his altercation with Jordan Poole the day before.

Green then left practice and is not expected to return until Saturday. The Warriors are still disciplinary action against Green, but Myers said he does not expect to miss games because of the penalty.

“These things happen. No one likes it, we don’t condone it, but it does happen,” Myers said. “Draymond has apologized to the team. Jordan is in the room.

Sources told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that Green hit Poole hard in Wednesday’s practice.

The bickering started when the two started babbling and squabbling during practice. The situation escalated when they started shoving each other and eventually led to Green slamming Poole, sources said.

Green has been considered the heartbeat and emotional leader of the Warriors throughout his career. At Media Day, Klay Thompson said that being yelled at by Green at a certain point was “the legal act now.” Usually fighters welcome his firepower.

“He’ll tell you he’s crossed that line, but he keeps coming back,” Myers said. “Nobody said they didn’t want him around…but [Wednesday] wasn’t a good time….I don’t think he likes to put himself in those places. He’s one, but I think he’ll find A way to win back the respect of teammates and Jordan.”

Myers said Green and Poole’s upcoming contract talks played no part in the altercation, and he observed no change in either player’s behavior prior to the incident.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr and point guard Stephen Curry both agree.

“There are reports that Jordan’s attitude in training camp was far from the truth,” Kerr said. “He’s amazing.”

Curry added: “[Pool] is great, there’s no reason for what happened yesterday. I want to make that clear.”

Despite the incident, Myers called this year’s training camp and preseason the best “atmosphere” he’s experienced during his tenure with the Warriors. He believes Wednesday’s incident will resolve itself over time.

“It’s unfortunate, and I’m not going to deny it,” Myers said. “We need time to get through this, but we’ll get through it and move on. I’m sure we will. … It’s not the first thing that happens to us, the first sense of adversity. We’ve experienced it before. Some. I don’t like going through it, but it’s part of the NBA and part of the sport.
