Douglas Tolle Death and Obituary, 56-year-old Indiana Dentistry dies days after kitesurfing accident in Michigan City
Dr. Douglas Tolle, of Bremen, Indiana, has been identified as the victim who died in a hospital Monday after a Saturday kitesurfing incident in Marshall County.
Doug Tolle, 56, died in a hospital Monday after suffering a possible medical episode during a kitesurfing accident in Michigan City on Saturday.
According to reports, Tolle was taking a kitesurfing lesson near Washington Park Beach on Lake Michigan around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, when for unknown reasons, he began struggling in the water.
Tolle was unconscious by the time he was recovered from the water. CRP was administered on shore and he was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Tolle, of Bremen Family Dentistry, was pronounced dead at the hospital Monday afternoon. Indiana DNR lists his preliminary cause of death as cardiac arrest due to drowning.
