Alan Frankland Death: Branch President of Redcar Royal British Legion has Passed Away

Alan Frankland Death- It is with great regret that I must inform you that Mr. Alan Frankland, the Branch President of our organization, died away peacefully last night, Tuesday, November 8, in Redcar.

Everyone adored Alan, who was a true gentleman, a devoted father, and a pillar of this branch and the Royal British Legion as a whole. He devoted himself fully to the Poppy Appeal and the Legion since he liked his position within the branch.

He recently swam the length of the English Channel at Redcar Swimming Pool to raise money for the cause. He was constantly considering new ways to raise money.

He only recently attended our monthly branch meeting and pulled us up because one of our Standards was reversed, therefore he continued to lead the branch until the very end.

He had a way with people, loved making new friends, and left a mark on everyone he met. He will be sorely missed by this branch. He was a quiet man, but he made it his duty to make sure we did everything perfectly, and he was always the first to give credit when credit was due.

Details of the funeral service will be released soon.

May his soul rest in peace.
